Wound Care Fundamentals

This asynchronous, self-paced course provides an intermediate-level review of wound care principles for nurses in clinical, outpatient, and long-term care settings. Participants build upon foundational knowledge to assess, classify, and manage acute and chronic wounds using evidence-based practices. Emphasis is placed on wound healing physiology, assessment techniques, infection prevention, dressing selection, and interdisciplinary collaboration. By the end of the course, learners will be able to make informed clinical decisions that promote optimal patient outcomes and reduce complications.
