Contrast Media Reactions

This course provides registered nurses with a comprehensive, evidence-based review of contrast media reactions associated with iodinated and gadolinium-based agents. Participants will learn to differentiate between physiologic and allergic-like reactions, identify patient-specific risk factors, implement prevention strategies, and respond effectively to mild, moderate, and severe adverse events. Emphasis is placed on clinical decision-making, premedication protocols, emergency preparedness, and interprofessional communication to enhance patient safety across care settings.
